A few weeks ago a friend and I went to listen to Craig Mod talk about his work at the Apple Store in Soho. It was very inspiring. Aside from admiring his beautiful books, I enjoyed hearing him talk about his adventures as a freelance graphic designer in Japan. After his lecture I went to pick up his book called Art Space Tokyo. It features twelve galleries and museums in Tokyo – the stories behind each space and the personalities that built them. Each chapter focuses on a single space and features a map of the area to lead you to the gallery and the most interesting spots around it; be it an excellent soba shop or a rooftop with an amazing view of the city. It’s the perfect guide to bring along to Tokyo, or just to curl up with at home while dreaming about your next visit to the land of kawaii and kakkoi.
