The 20+ all-girl exhibit is called Superficial, and will open on August 4, 2007 Saturday at 6pm at a new pop art gallery called F+Art (Fashion+Art) gallery. It’s at K-1 corner K-D st, Kamuning Road in Quezon City.

The featured artists include Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan president Liza Flores, much-loved childrens’ book illustrators Pepper Roxas and Abi Goy, established visual artist MM Yu, The crafty, music video makers of Bawal Movement—a company which designs acrylic accessories—namely Hannah Liongoren, Mara Bernardo, Gabie Osario and Wiji Lacsamana, young artists Feanne Mauricio, Kara de Dios and Marie Gan. We are also joined by Lala Gallardo, who drew the award-winning comic, “Hika Girl” at the 1st Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards last year.

Furniture designers Yo and Osie from Pablo gallery also join the Superficial exhibit, as do mixed media artists Ene Lagunzad, Genie Ranada, Harvard graduate Bea Camacho, and Honey Hipe, who is currently based in Kuwait.

Superificial is also represented by the country’s most prolific design studios, such as Joyce Tai from Inksurge, fashion designer Garovs Garrovillo of EveryWhereWeShoot, Katwo Librando of 27+20 (she is likewise the frontwoman for the all-star dance-punk band Duster), Mica Cabildo of Team Manila and Bru from Electrolychee.

Part of the exhibit features 20+ artist-customized Manikako ragdolls, which will be auctioned off for the Barbing Pinay foundation (more info on http://barbingpinay.multiply.com).
